Diana Coffin founded the preschool program at Holy Names in 1997 and has been with us for twenty years! She has twenty-seven years of classroom experience. She holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alaska. Miss Diana is the lead teacher for both the Bumblebee (3-4 year olds) and Ladybug (4-5 year olds) Classes. She encourages students to be passionate about learning; to become peacemakers and creative thinkers.

For over a decade, Chrystal Vail’s career has been centered on work with children and families. She holds a degree in Child Development from the University of Idaho and has enjoyed being part of the Holy Name Catholic School Family since moving back to Ketchikan in 2017. She enjoys building trusting relationships with children and families as they are introduced to preschool and celebrates the smallest successes in each child’s development.

Barbara Strote holds a B.A. in Elementary Education with a special interest in Special Education. She completed her M.A. in Education from Concordia University and has several years of teaching experience in elementary education. She brings a high level of technology into the classroom and incorporates it into her teaching style. She has a special interest in teaching areas of both art and writing skills to her classroom students. Barb and her husband wanted to come back to live in S.E. Alaska and enjoy living here close to her sister. She loves living in Ketchikan, loves the weather; and LOVES Holy Name and the staff and students here. She considers her work here a calling and not just a career!

Joyce Keppinger has been in education for 41 wonderful years. She holds a Masters Degrees in Elementary Education and Library Science, and certifications in Administration, Supervisor of Student Teachers, Instructional Coordinator, Gifted and Talented and English as a Second Language. Ms. K moved to Ketchikan last year from Texas, and joined the Holy Name Catholic School family as our Second Grade teacher. In 2019-20 she will be teaching grades 3, 4, & 5. She is excited, and well qualified, to take on this new challenge.
